An a non-profit organization, the property owners formed a homeowners association (HOA) for the purpose of maintaining the common areas. The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for the homeowners association (HOA) was recorded on April 9, 1969 by Bexar County, Texas, under the legal name of "The Community House of Northern Hills Subdivision, Unit One." (Unit One, because another neighbour nearby used the name "Northern Hills").
The homeowners association (HOA) originally formed as a retirement community, but now welcomes all ages brackets. It is a quiet, paid back area with a small neighborhood range (just one street loop). See more official records in the knowledge base.
Purpose
The Community House of Northern Hills Subdivision, Unit One provides community leadership, architectural control, covenant enforcement, community events, accounting and finance, operation and maintenance of common areas.
- Community leadership is provided by the Board of Directors, as well as the Association Committees. All residents can participate in various committees. These committees help shape the future of homeowners association (HOA).
- Bylaws adopted by the homeowners association (HOA) itemize how the administration of the HOA should function. See the Bylaws.
- Homeowners are may be required to submit plans for all exterior improvements for approval to the Executive Committee prior to installation. Our goal is to ensure choices are in harmony with the overall appearance of the community.

Goals
Currently, the Board of Directors has these goals:
- Fund and install security cameras at the entry road.
- Clean up curb-appeal.
- Increase member engagement at meetings and towards community goals.
- Efforts to clear the non-residential parked cars that clutter the entryway.
- Install speed bumps on Braewick Drive.
- Recruit volunteers for code compliance.
- Create an online option for membership dues.
Range
The homeowners association (HOA) covers 90 platted properties in Bexar County.
Homeowners Duties and Options
You became a member of the Association the day you closed on your property within the homeowner's associations jurisdiction.
